Looking back at the history of the SAT helps us understand why this examination continues to spark discussion and debate even today.
And perhaps the most important lesson is that the format of the test is not what matters most.
Rather, it is the skills that the SAT has always sought to measure—reading comprehension, critical thinking, and effective communication. No matter how the exam changes, these remain at the heart of meaningful learning.
